If you would like to see a short video introduction to GarLyn Zoo Click Here
This
is also a commercial that runs on a cable station in St. Ignace.
GarLyn
zoo was started in 1994 so 2009 will be our 16th year of operation. The zoo
blends well with the natural surroundings of the upper peninsula. For the
most part the zoo has been built by hand and most of the trees and the
terrain have been left as nature intended. At the present time the zoo covers about 10
acres of the 30 acres that it sets on.
For most, it takes about an hour to an hour and a half to enjoy but you can
stay as long as you like. Feed the animals browse the gift shop or just
relax on a bench after strolling the shady aisles.
GarLyn Zoo Panoramas
will give you the 360 degree look and feel of being right in the aisle at
the zoo. Grain can be purchased to hand feed many of the animals
including deer, pygmy goats, llamas, chickens, ducks, peacocks and yes, you
can even feed the bear.
(Grain and apples available for purchased in the gift shop, sorry, no
outside food can be brought in to feed to the animals)
