Unlike
the movie "We Bought A Zoo" where they bought, rebuilt
and saved an existing zoo. GarLyn
Zoo started in 1993 with the love of animals, a dream and a section of untouched
Upper Peninsula forest. We built the zoo from the ground
up. A lot of people dream it - we did it. We built the zoo to
share our animals with you and your family. You can read our
full story here.
2012 will be our 19th year in operation and that's due to the
fact that
people enjoy our
animals and
what we've done. Come on in, enjoy it, see
for yourself
why so many people like GarLyn Zoo. You too will be pleasantly suprised.
Welcome,
GarLyn Zoo is located on US-2 in
Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula. We're just 6 miles
east of Naubinway, 40 minutes west of the Mackinac
Bridge. The zoo is a small intimate family run zoo
nestled in the mature pine forests on the shores of Lake
Michigan. We offer a child friendly atmosphere and
people friendly animals. You will
enjoy the natural wooded appeal of mature pines and
cedar mulched trails. Feed and view the animals up
close. See and enjoy animals from around the world. This is just
what you come to the Upper Peninsula for, a walk in the
woods and to see live animals.

The Zoo is
home to both native North American animals including,
alligator,
black bear, wolves, bobcat, whitetail deer, cougar,
river otter, skunk, porcupine, bison and some exotic
animals from around the world, wallaby, patagonian cavy,
ring-tailed lemur, camel, reindeer, sika deer, sulcata
tortoise to name a few. Be sure to check out our
Animals
representing 6 of the 7 continents of the world. We
trust you will find our web pages and the zoo to be both
entertaining and educational.
We are in the
process of updating our website. You may see and experience some
